Curaçao’s gambling regulator said its online licensing portal, affected by a cyberattack, will not return as previously planned. The disruption affects the system used for licensing offshore online gambling operators.
The Curaçao Gaming Authority said its online licensing portal will not return after a data breach exposed more than 40,000 documents. Existing licences remain valid, while licensing, compliance and supervision will continue through alternative arrangements as an interim system is developed.
The Curaçao Gaming Authority said the closure of its former portal will also affect the current digital seal used by operators to demonstrate licensing status. The regulator plans to introduce another method for operators to verify that their domains hold valid licences.
