Brazil’s betting regulator is increasing scrutiny of banks and payment companies involved in transactions linked to unauthorized gambling operators. The action places payment intermediaries at the center of efforts to block illegal betting activity.
At the Payment Expert Summit on October 2, Nick Spanos advocated using Lightning-style networks and stablecoins for gaming settlement and affiliate payments. He argued that on-chain processing could shorten payout cycles compared with conventional methods.
