A UK Gambling Commission analysis of Open Banking data found that 91% of people with repeated payments to detected illegal operators also used licensed operators. The finding indicates that illegal gambling commonly occurs alongside, rather than instead of, regulated play.
British licensed operators are subject to a 10-times wagering cap on bonus funds and restrictions on combining gambling products in promotions. From September 30, operators must offer gross deposit limits and label them as deposit limits under updated UKGC requirements.
Curaçao licensees must report certain transactions when defined indicators are met, including transactions of NAf 5,000 or more under the applicable AML framework. The reporting distinction separates objective unusual-transaction indicators from a separate suspicion assessment.
